Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need previous Martial Arts training?
A: No, Krav Maga is design for everyone to learn self defense. Krav Maga overriding philosophy is to do "Whatever Works." The system is flexible, true to its modern combat evolution. Techniques are constantly modified, revised, added and discarded as real-life encounters are taken into account and analyzed.

Q: Will I need a uniform or specific training attire?
A: No. For practical purposes, practitioners are encouraged to wear athletic attire. All practitioners may to choose to use mouth guards and for males adviseable to use the protective groin guard for safetly reasons.

Q: How is the class run?
A: Classes are generally run One hour and a half, seminars are usually longer. Classes begin with warm-ups and stretching, fitness workouts and lastly we will practise continuous motion which is know as Retzev in Israel, this type of continuous-motion training simulates real-life encounters

Q: Do classes incorporate full-contact fighting?
A: Yes and No. It is more to Situation Fighting and Pressure Fights. For the safetly of students, we do not advise on full force contact. Proper training gear such as Gloves, Shin n Arm Pads, Headgears and Bodypads are adviseable during Situation and Pressure trainings

Q: Are there any rules when practicing Krav Maga?
A: Yes and No. Krav Maga instructors emphasize paradoxical but neccessary training rules: (1) there are NO RULES in a Real Life Situation, but (2) one must not injure oneself or one's training partner during training.
